UX/UI Case Study
Deposit returns experience
Redesigning HangiKredi’s deposit calculation experience to make comparing offers clearer and easier.
TL;DR
I redesigned HangiKredi’s deposit calculation experience to make comparing deposit offers clearer and easier. The project focused on identifying usability issues, improving the calculation flow, and creating a more effective experience for discovering and comparing sponsor bank offers.
Project Brief
It is a re-evaluation of the deposit calculation page in terms of user experience. Identify user problems to work on. Following the design process, we arrive at the proposed solution. Create a prototype of your proposed solution.
It is expected that the referrals to the sponsor banks will be designed in a healthy way. In addition, proper evaluation of the sign up button to increase the number of members is a priority.

Problems and Solutions
The text sizes used on the site were created too large. It affects the first interaction on the site.
Hover is not used in the dropdowns in the sub header field.
When you scroll down the page, bank cards appear blocked on the left. Ensuring symmetry will provide a better experience.
It may be more appropriate to position the login and sign up link buttons separately. It can be in the form of a subscribe button. Login can be in the form of a text button. Thus, the “Become a member” section can stand out more.
There are 2 “Popular Deposit Accounts” fields in different locations on the same screen.
“About page direction” has been removed from the deposit page. It can be added to the header field.
Benchmark
Reviewing similar financial products and identifying patterns that could inform a clearer deposit comparison experience.

User interview
Qualitative research is defined as a market research method that focuses on obtaining data through open-ended and conversational communication. This method is not only about "what" people think but also "why" they think so. It proves an in-depth understanding of the ways of the people come to understand, act and manage their day-to-day financial situations in particular settings.
I conducted 5 face to face user interviews to understand their manage of their financial situation and accumulated those data in documents. Some of the questions with which target costumers were:
- Can you tell about yourself?
- What kind of job do you have?
- Who do you live with during the week?
- What do you do in your spare time?
- How often do you do online banking or visit banks?
- Approximately how long do you do research per week for all your investments?
- Do you use any application other than the banks application? What is the advantage?
- Which investment method do you prefer?
Research Findings
The interviews helped identify how people manage their investments, how frequently they research financial products, and where they experience friction when comparing bank offers.
What is your source of income?
How do you plan your investment?
Do you find it difficult to manage your investment?
Do you think the help of online investment companies is successful?
Can you compare the interest percentages of the banks?
Do you have difficulty comparing the interest percentages of the banks?
Persona
Based on the interviews, I created a persona to represent the common behaviors, needs and pain points identified during the research.
Persona developed from user research
Empathy Map
To better understand the users’ thoughts, feelings, behaviors and frustrations, I mapped the insights gathered during the research into an empathy map.
